Born and raised in Philadelphia, Scott Jovovich began performing at the age of eight, and since that time, his career has taken him worldwide. Exploring his wide range of interests, he has worked in diverse areas of the performing arts field, including dance, musical theater, television, print, choreography, directing, teaching, as well as set and costume design.

From 1982-1995, Mr. Jovovich was a Principal dancer with such companies as The Joffrey Ballet, The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, The Northern Ballet Theatre (England) with Rudolph Nureyev, The Universal Ballet (Korea), Ballet Arizona, and the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company. His repertoire includes leading roles in ballets by some of the world’s foremost choreographers including: Balanchine, Tudor, DeMille, Ashton, Cranko, Massine, MacMillan, Robbins, Arpino, Joffrey, Lander, Lubovitch, Naharin and Ailey, as well as many of the great 19th Century Classics.

In 1989, Mr. Jovovich was featured in the Tony Award winning musical, “JEROME ROBBINS BROADWAY”. The experience not only afforded him the opportunity to work closely with Mr. Robbins, but several other musical theater greats, among them, Mary Martin, Adolph Green, Nancy Walker, Betty Comden and Leonard Bernstein. Jovovich worked on two subsequent projects with Mr. Robbins, a reworking of “WEST SIDE STORY”, and “THE HOME PLAY”, a play based on Robbins’ life. Since then he has appeared in “CAROUSEL” at Lincoln Center, “ONCE UPON A MATTRESS” withSarah Jessica Parker, and  featured in “FOSSE”, where he was privileged to learn the incomparable Fosse Legacy from Anne Reinking, and Fosse’s greatest muse, theater and film legend, Gwen Verdon. Mr. Jovovich has appeared in numerous TV commercials and soaps, performed on the 1989, 1997, and1999 TONY AWARDSBroadcasts, THE ROSIE O’DONNELL SHOW, and was a guest on“MONDAY NIGHT SPORTS”.

Jovovich has directed and choreographed for nightclub, musical theater, ballet and commercials, and industrials. In 1987, his“VARIATIONS ON I GOT RYTHMN” was created for the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. He directed and choreographed a commercial, also for Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. He’s choreographed several musicals including: “THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS”,  “SLAUGHTER OF THE INNOCENTS”,“ANYTHING GOES”, and “ON YOUR TOES”. Jovovich has created a number of ballets for various companies, among them a full length “NUTCRACKER”, “SEND IN THE CLOWNS”,  “GEORGIE’S BLUES”, “CARMINA BURANA”, “BLUE METALLICA”,”FRANK’S PLACE”, “GLAZUNOV FANTASY”, “TANGO TALK”, “SUMMER’S CALL”, “O MAGNUM MYSTERIUM”, and a concert version of “PORGY AND BESS”.

As a teacher, Mr. Jovovich has been on the faculty of The Joffrey Ballet School, The Shirley Rock School of The Pennsylvania Ballet, The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, The Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts, The Brandywine Ballet, The New York City Dance Alliance, The University of the Arts in Phila., and in 1991, Jovovich opened his own school in Philadelphia, The Academy for the Performing Arts. In 2008, Mr. Jovovich incorporated JovoDance Productions, a company that provides training in the Performing Arts,  Costume and Dancewear Lines, Choreography and Direction and Performing Opportunities.

Jovovich received his training from several of the most renowned teachers in the performing arts field, includingPatricia Wilde, Lupe`Serrano, Cherie` Noble, Barbara Wiesberger, Lee Theodore, Benjamin Harkavy, John Prinz, Maggie Black, Valentina Pereyaslavic, and Edward Myers. He studied voice with Paul Elkin, Gene McLaughlin, andTom Sheppard, and received his drama training from The Pittsburgh Playhouse.

Liz Fitchett Jovovich

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Liz has studied dance since childhood and has worked with some of New York’s finest for years.  Her dance training stems from Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania Ballet School of Dance, to Langhorne, with Fosse’s own Gary Flannery.  She has studied with New York’s famous Tim Everett, Frank Hatchett, Mia Michaels, Joe Lantieri and Scott Jovovich.  Liz has been teaching, coaching and choreographing for over the past 22 years. She has danced in many theatre shows,Promises, Promises, Oklahoma, Cabaret and A Chorus Line. She has performed in many ballet reps such as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and danced the role of “Eve” in a ballet of “Adam and Eve” set and choreographed for Liz by Eva Stanova. She was the dance captain for “Pure Platinum” a tri state touring Dance Company. Liz has walked the New York runways for such designer’s as Elizabeth’s, Lancôme, Estee Lauder, Mauana and more. She has staged, directed and choreographed many events for TV for “The Variety Club Telethon”, The Al Albert’s Showcase and with channel 6’s Dave Roberts. Her most recent “A Night on the Town” for the annual fundraiser forThe Brandywine Ballet Company in West Chester, PA. She choreographs, coaches and directs national winners for some of the most elite dance competitions, such as New York City Dance Alliance (NYCDA) Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), OnStage New York   and many, many more. Her students have won many scholarships to theAmerican Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, Houston Ballet and NYCDA and more. She currently works closely with Scott Jovovich as managing director of “JovoDance Productions” and continues to follow her passion to teach and coach students to find their own highest level of potential.

Priscilla-Alexandria-Tillotson-bio-13Priscilla Alexandria Tillotson – Ballet & Hip-Hop

Priscilla Alexandria Tillotson since the age of 2, Priscilla has been dancing along side her parents Liz and Scott. Her passion to always be dancing has led her to some very exciting experiences as a Dancer. At the age of 12 she was seen by talent scouts in New York and invited to audition for the Broadway Show “Oklahoma”. She was a member of Philadelphia “Seventy Sixer’s” Junior Dance Team for 3 years and the Fox Television’s Good Day Philadelphia Dance team for 2 years. At age 14, Priscilla became a member of the Brandywine Ballet Theatre, where she performed in The Nutcracker, Dracula, George Balanchine’s Seranade, Georgie’s Blues and Frank’s Place, where she was partnered with SYTYCD’s first season winner Nick Lazzarini. At the same time she was a Regional Outstanding Dancer for NYCDA in Philadelphia. She has attended the Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive in New York. She attended The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Priscilla has had the opportunity to work with some of today’s most exciting Teachers and Choreographers, including Jason Parsons, Suzi Taylor, Travis Wall, Ivan Koumanev, Zane Booker, Roni Koresh, Crystal Frazier, Dana Wilson and Joe Lanteri. She recently danced in the opening number “On The Town” for NYCDAF’s Bright Lights, Shining Stars, 1st annual performance. She continues to train with her Dad who is her greatest supporter, inspiration and mentor in dance.

Maureen-Lepo-bio-13Maureen McCrinunon Leporace – Tap

Maureen McCrinunon Leporace – was born and raised in Rockledge, PA, she has been dancing since the age of3 under the direction of Rita Rue. Her classic ballet training was under the direction of Ms Alicia Craig at the Philadelphia Civic Ballet. She was a part of the travel company of TV celebrity Gene London and The Hannah-Barbara Production Company. During this time she also was an award winning competitive dancer. She also had the opportunity to appear on many TV Shows, Steel Pier, Tony Grant, Al Albert’s and more. Maureen walked the runway in modeling with Jane Kirby Harris Productions, where she also choreographed the opening numbers of the show. Since 1985, Maureen has worked closely with Liz and Scott teaching tap and choreographing for award winning teams, the Portfolio and The Jets. She is a certified Zumba and Bokwa Instructor and conducts several classes and master workshops in the tristate area. She currently sits on the Board of The Metropolitan Ballet .

Joe-Cotler-bioJoe Cotler – Contemporary

Joe Cotler grew up in Batavia, NY and trained at his mother Robin Cotler’s dance studio, Images in Dance. He graduated from The University of the Arts in May 2009. While at school, he had the opportunity to work with numerous choreographers including Scott Jovovich, Ronen Koresh and Paul Selwyn-Norton. He currently teaches and choreographs for numerous studios in the area. He joined Koresh as an apprentice in 2009 and has been a company dancer since 2010. Joe teaches the Contemporary class at Jovo. Ballet and tap are other passions of Joe. He has performed in The Nitcracker, dancing the role of” Snow King” with the Brandywine Ballet Company of West Chester, PA for past several years.

Kelly-Martin-BioKelly Martin-Ferro – Ballet & Jazz

Kelly has been dancing since the age of three. She started her training with Liz and Scott at the New Horizon Dance Studio. She has performed principal roles in numerous ballets staged and choreographed by Scott Jovovich, including “The Nutcracker,” “Les Sylphides,” “Pas de Quatre,” and “Rhapsody in Blue.” In 2003, Kelly received her BFA in Dance from The University of the Arts. Here, she performed in many different ensemble pieces, including principal roles in “Paquita,” staged by Andrew Pap and Eva Szabo, “Love Transitions,” choreographed by Wayne David, and “Jazz Swing,” choreographed by the renowned late Fernando Bujones. Kelly has also been in various performances in Atlantic City and has participated in many dance intensives including The Columbia City Ballet in South Carolina. Kelly has been teaching dance for over twelve years and her choreography has won gold awards in such prestigious competitions as NYCDA, OnStage New York, and Youth America Grand Prix. In 2004, she started her own after-school dance program at several grade schools in the Philadelphia area, teaching ballet, tap, and jazz to over 125 students, ranging in age from four to fifteen. Also, a proud mother of two (Jacob and Emma), Kelly is very excited to share her knowledge and love of dance with the Jovo students this summer.

Laura-Mancuso-bio13Laura Mancuso Veitz – Ballet & Tap

Laura Mancuso Veitz began her dance training under the direction of Eve Persicketti and Liz Fitchett Tillotson at age two. From such an early age, Laura always knew she loved to dance and continued her dance training at New Horizon Dance Studio in Northeast Philadelphia for sixteen years. While at New Horizon, Laura had the opportunity to train in ballet, tap, jazz, modem and hip hop. It was there that she became a member of the Holiday Ballet Theatre under Scott Jovovich and Liz Fitchett Tillotson, as well as a member of the Senior Portfolio, an award winning competition team. Laura has danced the roles of “Clara” and “Arabian Princess” in The Holiday Ballet Theatre’s performance of The Nutcracker, and her favorite piece, Rhapsody in Blue, choreographed by Scott Jovovich. Laura is thankful to have trained with many other amazing teachers while at New Horizon, some of which include Nina Fedorova, Carla Craig-Krochak, Maureen Leporace, Jeff Lyons, and Cherie Noble to name a few. In college, Laura continued dancing at the Metropolitan Ballet Academy with Lisa Collins-Vidnovic and began teaching jazz classes there with Eve Persicketti. She has also taught ballet at the Professional Dance Academy and is now so excited to be working again with two of the artists who inspired a love of dance in her, Liz and Scott. In addition, Laura has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in the field of education and currently teaches English at Pennsbury High School. She has enjoyed teaching high school students for the past ten years and is glad she can now share her passion for dance with the students at Jovo Dance. Laura resides in Northeast Philadelphia with her husband, Chris, and three-year-old daughter, Juliana, who also dances at Jovo.

Kelly-Rossi-BioKelly Rossi – Acrobatics

Kelly Rossi has been a part of the JCD&GA since the age of two taking her very first gymnastics class with Stina Smith. Now 22 years later Kelly is the Assistant Director of Gymnastics at the Academy having trained with some of the countries top gymnastics coaches. Working with a USAG safety certification, Kelly brings an extensive background in the field of gymnastics and cheerleading to all of her students. Teaching all levels of gymnastics , contortion and cheerleading Kelly’s classes are full of high energy, fun, and always exciting! Kelly also has a background in the competitive world competing at the regional and National level she has been recognized with top honors such as Jr. Miss Starpower and Jr. Miss Acrobat of N. J .. She received top honors placing at Nationals in Dallas Texas, Orlando Florida and Myrtle Beach ,South Carolina with her All Star Collegiate Cheerleading Team. Kelly has credentials with the National Cheerleading Association and has been an instructor for NCA Cheerleading programs throughout the United States. Sharing her cheerleading expertise, Kelly has coached many local teams such as Margaret Mace, Crest Memorial, Tietleman, Wildwood High, Lower Cape May Regional and Wildwood Catholic. Choreographing Individual routines for many cheerleaders who have placed 1st at the National level. Recently 12 of Kelly’s students have had the honor of being chosen for the United States Acrobatic Team being highlighted performers at such venues as Madison Square Garden, Walt Disney World and Times Square in New York City ·with DRA., One of Kelly’s students who held the title of Miss Acrobat of the United States 2005 was a featured performer on the CBS morning show. Kelly is extremely proud of her students and their accomplishments, many of which hold some of the countries highest titles, such as Petite Miss Acrobat, Jr. Miss Acrobat and Miss Acrobat of the United States. Kelly is looking forward to many more re,:varding years at the Academy, and feels very blessed to call JCD&GA her home.

Ryan-James-Stauffer-bio-13Ryan James Stauffer

Ryan James Stauffer began dancing at the age of 17 at his mother’s dance studio, he attended the University of the Arts as a Ballet major. Since college he has toured as a backup dancer for actress and recording artist raven Symone. He was a background dancer in the film “Bolden!” Choreographed by Hinton Battle, Ryan then performed in the STEPS on Broadway Faculty Show in a piece choreographed by Roberta Mathes. Soon after he switched gears into musical theatre. He has performed in “Hairspray” “The Producers” “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” and “Curtains” at the Walnut Street Theatre, where he earned his Actor’s Equity status. In the same week that “Curtains” closed at the Walnut, Ryan debuted as a member of Koresh Dance Company in the production “Somewhere In Between” choreographed by Ronen Koresh. His most recent noteworthy performance was in NYC in an excerpt of “On the Town” choreographed by Scott Jovovich.
